About the Symposium

A symposium on the deHavilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver bushplane will be held during the day of Friday May 25, 2007.  This event is being hosted by the Canadian Aviation Historical Society (CAHS) in conjunction with their 2007 Annual General Meeting and Convention.  CAHS is joining with the Toronto Aerospace Museum to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first flight of this remarkable Toronto-designed aircraft.

Symposium Agenda

Presentations and discussions will be held at the Toronto Aerospace Museum meeting room.
 
9:00 am – 9:15 am Opening remarks by Fred W. Hotson, Author, "de Havilland in Canada"
9:15 am – 10:15 am Beaver Pilots Panel - “Beaver Operations – Flying the Half-Ton”
10:45 am – 12:00 pm The Beaver as Agplane, Dr. Renald Fortier, Curator, Canada Aviation Museum
1:00 pm – 2:15 pm The Beaver goes to War as the L-20, Carl Mills, Author & Historian
2:15 pm – 3:15pm Where are the Beavers now? Neil Aird, Artist & Beaver Historian
3:45 pm – 5:00 pm The future of the Beaver in the 21st Century, Viking Air, Sidney B.C.

A “box lunch” will be served at noon and there will be two coffee breaks with light refreshments.
